What is Embodied Memoir? My definition is a piece of theater that examines the axis between lived and documented. A piece of personal writing, like a memoir, put back up on it's feet. There may be re-enactment, but also critique, and a kind of reckoning with the time elapsed.
Why might memoir funtion defferently on stage? Both would allow for the vagaries of memory. By inhabiting the piece, it gives an opportunity for the memories we store in our bodies to contribute. This is an art practice, with all the tenuate processes.
